When someone you know is having a baby there are so many choices of what to buy them it can be very overwhelming. Even the help of a registry can make it tough because they are often long and even when you chose the item you have to match the numbers exactly to make sure you got the right pattern or color. This is why I love the idea of baby gift sets. You can make them as large or small as would be appropriate for the person and you budget. There are lots of places that offer premade baby gift sets that you can grab quickly. But I love the idea of giving a gift set put together personally because no matter the size, the thought behind it is shown.
If you decide to go with a premade baby gift set, it can be as simple as going by the local chain grocery store, get online and doing a search, or going to the local baby store. Most large grocery stores carry small gift baskets or diaper cakes in their floral department. If you go online you will find that you decision may be more challenging simply because of the large selection of baby gift set, the baby store will carry a larger selection of baskets, but it does give you the benefit of seeing it up close and making sure it the right size and has the presentation you want.
Okay, so maybe you’re considering doing this on your own? A baby gift set is easy to make, even for the novice. Start with a theme, this may sound odd, but it will narrow your choices to a specific area and will make shopping much easier. I’ll give you an example with a meal time them. Buy a three section basket or three small baskets. Think of it as breakfast, lunch and dinner. In all three, put a bib. You could add baby spoons, baby bowls, a gift card to the local market, even add some homemade baby food recipes, or maybe a bath basket. Get baby wash, a nice baby towel, and any other little items Mom might need like lotion or powder. You can now see how a theme will get you started. And if you’re crafty and want to really put some effort into the baby gift basket presentation, go for it. If not, simply put all the items in the basket and wrap it in tissue paper instead of a clear wrap.
